Enhancement for the FOI (Freedom of Information) system

Braintree Council - our user of the FOI (Freedom of Information) and Complaints Module, requested a significant enhancement of their Case Closure screen. They wanted more analysis of the process of closure, and, where the Council was not obliged to respond (or respond in full), they wanted to have the potential to record multiple reasons for exemption. Two exemption lists were needed, one for FOI and the other for EIR.

At no additional cost to the annual maintenance contract, HUBSolutions undertook this enhancement, which required a new two-tier pick list for the exemption reasons (controlled by a screen accessible to the Administrator), many new fields in the Closure Screen, and a new data table in order to display the exemption reasons prominently in the Case History.

The customer was completely happy with the version which we let them use on a TEST system, and now we have implemented it on the Live system. The new facility has caused no issues. Reports which use the new data will be created for Braintree, as soon as sufficient data has been entered by users.

At the same time, Braintree wanted to review all of the standard correspondence, and we assisted with the re-customisation of that.

Finally, Braintree wanted an enhancement which would automatically attach any document which came with the FOI request to the email advising staff to log in and provide the information requested. This clearly made the email system more useful, and HUBSolutions made a minor enhancement to achieve this.
