Speeding Caseworks Up

The South Tyneside Annual Upgrade, presented a new
challenge to HUBSolutions. One of the main issues was
system performance, caused by a combination of an
over-worked web server, unbelieveably long cases (many
with 500 to 750 links), heavy daily useage and
inefficiencies caused by the many facilities built into
the system. The challenge was to reduce the processing
and bandwidth, without reducing the functionality.
HUBSolutions, achieved accelleration of 80-90% through
a combination of more efficient coding, replicating
data and giving users options to reduce the amount of
data being downloaded.
Caseworks Mapping Module

The new complete Caseworks Mapping Module was
demonstrated for the first time, in November to
Hyndburn Housing Association and Leeds Tenant
Management Organisations. The module was well received.
It includes the ability to map data selected from the
search screen, to number or label the mapped points, to
colour code the points by data content eg. Incident
Type, to plot mapped pi charts and bar charts, to
hyperlink from any mapped point to the relavent
Caseworks Page and display in Google Earth or download
as Excel / Mappoint(tm) file.
