The Key Performance Indicator facility in CASEWORKS
is much more than just a reporting system. It is a
complete sub system designed to monitor output and
encourage the timely completion of targets.
Why
have KPI Records?
•
There are typically 100 to 200 Actions and Outcomes
within Caseworks from which a User may choose.
• There are also Complex Actions, like ASBOs,
which involve up to 20 or 30 distinct stages.
• Finally, there are System Actions, like
Transfer, Opening, Closing and Re-Opening a case.
Of all these Actions, it is likely, that
Performance is being assessed by the completion of
less than 10 “Key Indicators”. For
those, it is probable that some of them are not
merely being counted, but performance is actually a
measure of the percentage completed within a target
period.
Even more complications are possible
The Indicator may only apply to some Organisations
which use the system.
They may have different Targets based on the Case
Priority.
The performance may have to be split based on
another data field.
The Periods of Reporting may not be precise
calendar months.
You may want users to explain reasons for delay.
You may be as interested in KPIs skipped or missed,
as those actually hit.
Between
them, our customers have all these complications
and the KPI system has been built around these
requirements.
